Dear Microsoft community, I would like for all to be aware of the Microsoft issue that has not been resolved since last year. The problem has started after some updates.. coping (from PowerPoint) and pasting (to Microsoft Word) has failed to match the destination document format as expected in previous version of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Office 2011. At first, I thought it was my computer's problem. However, after I (1) reinstalled Microsoft office, (2) reset my laptop and (3) changed to a new laptop, the problem persisted until now. I have tested same settings on Microsoft Office 2011 and came to know that Microsoft Office 2011 still function as expected. I tested cross version using copy (from PowerPoint 2011) and paste (to Word 2016) and everything worked as expected. However, the problem happened only when I copied from PowerPoint 2016 and pasted to Word 2016. In conclusion, the problem that happened was with PowerPoint 2016 and this was an inherent problem not with a Mac but with Microsoft Office settings that was faulty from manufacturer either intentionally or was supposedly a mistake that was overlooked and never corrected. I have tried to call in and talked with a representative in hope of warning the company of the glitch. However, until now, the problem has yet to be solved. I hope to voice my concerns here of the poor customer service the Microsoft has to customers and hope that everyone who has same problems to voice their concerns in this forum. Thank you so much A family of Microsoft presentation graphics products that offer tools for creating presentations and adding graphic effects like multimedia objects and special effects with text. Locked Question. This question was migrated from the Microsoft Support Community. You can vote on whether it's helpful, but you can't add comments or replies or follow the question. Thank you for posting back. Per our conversations in this thread, your request is more likely to be a functional change as I see the same behavior on my side. Therefore, it is best to submit your feedback of the current behavior via UserVoice. Related team will review the requests in UserVoice and respond to them. As for now, we suggest you use "paste special" in Word and choose Match Destination Formatting as a quick workaround. If you have any other concern about Office 2016 for Mac, you are always welcome to post back in our forums. I apologize for the inconvenience brought to you. I have performed further tests from my side and found that I may have misunderstood your question previously. Based on my recent tests, when copy from PowerPoint 16.10 and paste to Word 16.10 directly, the format keeps the same as which is in PowerPoint. I will need to choose Match Destination Formatting to match the format in Word. But when I copy from PowerPoint 2011 and paste into Word 2011 directly, the format matches the destination format in Word by default. I also have noticed PowerPoint 15.41 is sharing the same behavior with 16.10. We have involved related team to check the behavior and will post back once there is any update. As a workaround, you can paste special in Word and Keep Text Only. If you have any further concern, please feel free to let us know. Thanks again for your time and efforts.

19 additional answers Anonymous 2018-02-28T21:18:43+00:00 Hey, I think you misread my question. Per my description, the contents copied from Powerpoint 2016 information into Words 2016 did not automatically match destination format. As you mentioned, the option that I showed was from Words 2016 because there was nothing wrong with how things should have been set up. To answer your question, I have PowerPoint 16.10 and last I checked, there was no update available. Best, 0 comments No comments I think you misread my question.
